Maths

This weeks maths focus has been on graphs. We have learnt how to create and interpret a stem and leaf, dot plot, bar and line graph. Being able to understand this information was a challenge at times too.

PE with Mr Kirby

PE with Mr Kirby had a focus on football skills. We were practising dribbling and moving with the ball. Something we are all quite good at!

Read-a-thon

Read-a-thon preparation. Next week is our school read-a-thon. We have all been collecting sponsors for our reading efforts next week. We will be reading, reading and reading some more all week. On FRIDAY will also be a dress up day. Come as your favourite book character ... I wonder which book characters we will see at school on Friday?

ANZAC Biscuits

In reading this week we learnt about ANZAC biscuits and how they came to be. We did some research about ANZAC day and learnt:
  • We learnt that eggs were not included in the biscuits so they didn't go off as quickly.
  • ANZAC stands for the Australian New Zealand Army Corp
  • ANZAC were sent to the soldiers in Turkey during WW1
  • ANZAC is on the 25 April each year
  • We remember all the soldiers that died during the wars on this day
  • Next weeks homework will have the recipe in it so we can make them at home
